DIALOGUE BETWEEN STUDENTS AND THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR ON CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND CLIMATE CHANGE: BEST PRACTICES AND REFLECTIONS FOR THE FUTURE.

A climate diplomacy initiative was held this morning at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in Brussels, Francesco Genuardi, in the special presence of the Federal Minister for Climate and Environment of the Kingdom of Belgium, Zakia Khattabi, entitled " Dialogue between students and the public and private sectors on circular economy and climate change: best practices and reflections for the future ".

The event, organized with the collaboration of the UK Embassy in Brussels, involved about seventy students from Belgian universities (ULB, VUB and UCLouvain) in a "circular dialogue" with Italian and English excellences on economic issues circular and the fight against climate change and with Minister Khattabi, an active politician sensitive to issues of social and environmental justice.

The Italian ENEL, ENEA, SNAM, and the Turin Center for Innovation of Banca Intesa and the English National Grid participated in the dialogue with the students with presentations that stimulated curiosity, ideas and reflections in the participants.

The event is part of the COP26 initiatives that Italy also carries out in diplomatic-consular offices abroad, as co-president, together with the United Kingdom for this important international event for the fight against climate change . In particular, Italy will host the "Youth4Climate: Driving Ambitions" event in Milan at the end of the month (28-September). Precisely in view of this appointment, the Embassy of Italy in Brussels has asked the students participating in today's event to write a paper that will constitute the Belgian contribution in view of the concrete proposals that will be elaborated by the young people selected for Youth4Climate on the most important issues. urgent issues concerning the climate agenda and the negotiations of the Pre-COP26 (30 September-2 October 2021).
